Race 2 of 4 in the 2013 Goyt Valley series.

I ran the Woodbank Parkrun again in the morning before taking the train up the Buxton line to Whaley Bridge for this friendly afternoon fell race. It is an annual favourite of mine that runs on the day of the Whaley Bridge Carnival. We watch the floats, bands and processions pass along the high street and disappear out of sight before we get to run in their wake, cheered on by the crowds of spectators lining the road. (Thank goodness that bypass was built otherwise this could never take place.)
Occurring as it did at the beginning of the 2013 hot spell (our summer), we enjoyed warm sunshine for our run up to Windgather Rocks and back down to plunge into the river before the final few yards up to the finish line. 52:17 turned out to be a nice PB (11th of the year).
The busted camera means no pictures from me this time.
Hey up Nick!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up with your blogfest. Good to see you are running well.
All the best

Hey Steve, there's much more where this came from. I'm way behind! Running instead of blogging you know. ;-)
